Coaching assessment

Building a pool of competent executive coaches demands a lot more than casual interviews. HR clients increasingly recognise that it is unlikely any single provider will have a range of coaches suitable for all their needs; and that many of the best executive coaches are independents. Creating a pool of approved coaches makes economic sense, but how can you decide who should join that pool?

As an independent voice, CA assists organisations in designing and running robust assessment centres, which establish executive coaches' competence and "fit".

The process includes:

  • management of an application process, designed to weed out most unsuitable candidates at an early stage
  •  a structured interview with a psychologist, to explore motivation to coach
  • a panel interview, to establish knowledge of coaching and understanding/ fit with the organisation culture
  • an observed coaching session using real coachees
  • reflection and self-assessment by coach and coachee
  • As a result, both the organisation and the coachees can have a much higher degree of confidence that the selected coaches are the best available.
